Tracking Delaware County Recent Arrests
Start with the Delaware County Inmate Roster. It lists who is in custody now. Delaware County publishes no separate 24-hour, 48-hour, 72-hour, or weekly booking report, and it makes no promise about how fast a new arrest reaches the roster. Someone booked minutes ago may still be processing. A person released, transferred, or jailed in another county may never show up in the current view at all.
Two pages here help you work around that gap honestly. Use the 24 Hour Arrests page for a same-day check, and the Arrest Log page for several days of releases, local news, and older-record routes.
| Window | Official source | What it can establish | Main limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Same day | Current county roster | A listed person is shown in county custody | No 24-hour cutoff or posting time is stated |
| Several days | No county blotter found | Roster plus selective agency or news reports | Coverage is not complete |
| Current custody | Roster and jail staff | Current county-jail status | Released entries may roll off |
| Alerts | IowaVINE | Participating custody events | Not a booking-photo source |
Search the Delaware County Arrest Roster
The county page embeds a GMD Solutions list of Delaware County Jail inmates. For present county custody, it is the strongest online check. The layout is a scrollable list. There is no typed name search. It publishes no result cap, archive depth, timezone, or refresh schedule. The county itself warns the data may lag. The list should not carry the weight of a legal decision.
The official roster page supplies the county context around that vendor list.
This capture identifies the county-controlled doorway; the embedded list supplies the individual custody fields.
| Roster field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name and ID | The identity label and provider record number shown for the entry |
| Date | The booking date shown by the widget, not a public posting timestamp |
| Charge | The charge recorded at intake, which may later change |
| Bond amount | The displayed bond value, subject to the court order and holds |
| Cell | The housing or hold label displayed by the roster |
| Additional charges | Extra booking charges when the entry includes them |
| Image | A booking image when supplied; some entries have a blank image area |
Open the county roster. Search the page for the exact surname. Try spacing or hyphen variations if the first pass fails. Check the ID, date, charge, bond, and cell against what you know. Compare any added charge lines too. Note the ID and date before you call. For a missing name or blank photo, call the jail at 563-927-3135, extension 6622. A blank image can mean the picture did not load. An absent entry can simply mean the arrest happened elsewhere, or it may not have posted yet.
The direct roster widget shows the fields used for a current check.
Note: the county roster page appears here as interface context for the search steps, not as a photo gallery.
When Delaware County Arrests Post
Delaware County sets no posted standard for how fast an arrest appears. Four events run on separate clocks. The officer finishes a report. Jail staff complete booking. The vendor publishes the entry, and VINE gets a custody update. Dyersville policy asks officers to finish municipal reports as soon as possible or by end of shift. That is not a promise about the roster. Office hours say nothing about refresh timing on nights, weekends, or holidays.
Treat bond data with the same care. The widget may show an amount, a cell label, a hold, or a court-order notation. It offers no local release schedule. A zero figure does not mean a person can walk out. Read the court order or ask jail staff. If an entry vanishes, check IowaVINE or call rather than assuming release. The sheriff's office offers no mobile app. Its official Facebook link shares selected public information, not a full arrest log.
Where Delaware County Arrests Appear
No single record follows a Delaware County arrest from start to finish. The arresting agency keeps its report. The jail holds the booking record. The court tracks the case. State or federal systems take over after a transfer, so check official sources before trusting news feeds or commercial reposts.
| Channel | Photo? | Official? | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| County inmate roster | Some entries | Yes | Current Delaware County Jail custody |
| Sheriff or city police | By request, if releasable | Yes | Arrest report and original agency facts |
| Iowa Courts Online | No | Yes | Charges filed and later disposition |
| Iowa DOC search | Check the result | Yes | State prison or community supervision |
| KMCH, KCTN, KCRG | Sometimes | No | Selective, event-driven reporting |
| Busted Newspaper | Often | No | Unofficial republication that may be stale |
KMCH and KCTN sometimes post sheriff or public-safety releases. KCRG has covered a Manchester case involving both city police and the sheriff. None of them runs a full daily booking service. Busted Newspaper has a Delaware County, Iowa section. Entries can linger after release, though, and may not match the court outcome later. Mugshots.com carries no Delaware County entries. Similarly named pages elsewhere point to Ohio or Oklahoma. Confirm both state and county before trusting a match.
The KMCH local-news section reflects the selective regional coverage that exists.
Note: regional news adds color and context, but it cannot confirm a complete day of Delaware County arrests or current custody.
Recent Arrests by Delaware County City
Agency lines matter inside Delaware County. Manchester runs its own police department. A Manchester arrest held in county custody can still land on the Delaware roster. Dyersville straddles county lines. It fields its own department and arrest-report folder, and often ties into Dubuque County systems. Edgewood also sits in two counties, with the Delaware County Sheriff patrolling the Delaware side. Match the incident location and arresting agency to find the right custodian.
- Manchester Recent Arrests explains the city police report and Delaware County booking route.
- Dyersville Recent Arrests covers the municipal report folder and cross-county check.
- Edgewood Recent Arrests explains sheriff patrol and the possible Clayton County path.
Read a Delaware County Arrest Record
A Delaware County arrest record begins the moment a person is booked into the county jail. It is not an officer's incident report. It is not a court docket either. The county says the jail keeps records for everyone booked there. The public widget shows only a working slice of that material. A full request can cover the booking sheet. It can also cover the intake date and time, the booking identifier, charges recorded at intake, and bond data. Release or transfer details and any releasable booking photograph belong on the same list.
| Record item | Question it answers |
|---|---|
| Identity and booking ID | Which jail entry is involved |
| Booking date and time | When jail intake was recorded |
| Arresting agency | Which office may hold the police report |
| Booked charge | What was alleged at intake |
| Bond or hold | What restriction the entry showed then |
| Release or transfer | How county custody ended or moved |
| Booking photo | The intake image, if held and releasable |
| Court case | Where to verify filing and disposition |
Delaware County Mugshots and Arrest Photos
The sheriff's roster shows a photo for some bookings and none for others. Delaware County publishes no rule requiring a photograph of every person booked. Nor does it promise that every image is public or stays online after release. The blank spots reflect how the display works, not any judgment about the person shown. This page hosts no booking photographs of its own.
A mugshot records how someone looked at booking. It is not a court record. When a roster entry lacks an image, ask the sheriff for the booking photo by name, booking ID, and arrest date. The Iowa DOC search covers a different track: people who move into state corrections or supervision. Federal Bureau of Prisons results include no inmate photos at all. VINELink handles custody status and alerts, not picture searches.
Iowa Code chapter 22 backs access to current and prior arrest records, though other confidentiality rules can still apply. The 2026 Code contains no blanket ban on booking photos. Earlier bills that would have restricted public booking photos never became law, so treat them as proposals only. Juvenile, sealed, protected investigative, and victim records sit under separate rules.
Request Delaware County Arrest Records
Start with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office for any jail booking record or photo. The address is 1225 W. Howard Street in Manchester, Iowa 52057. The main line is 563-927-3135. Extension 6622 handles jail questions. The sheriff page lists themesath@delawarecountyia.us. Office hours run Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The county publishes no separate online photo-request form and no booking-photo fee schedule. The Delaware County Jail Division page names the booking-record custodian and the local contact route.
The official page confirms the local starting point. A precise written request helps staff locate an older arrest record faster.
- Identify the person, approximate arrest or booking date, and arresting agency.
- Ask whether the person was booked at the Delaware County Jail and request the exact record types needed.
- Request electronic delivery when available and ask for an itemized cost estimate before copies are made.
- If a city police department created the arrest report, send that report request to the city while asking the sheriff for the jail record.
- Use Iowa Courts Online or the Delaware County clerk to check the filed case and final disposition.
Iowa chapter 22 allows reasonable actual and direct costs. State guidance treats the first 30 minutes of a routine request as ordinarily free, but that is guidance rather than a Delaware County promise. The county posts no booking-photo fee. Ask for an estimate first. Retrieval and legal review set the pace, so no local turnaround time is guaranteed.
Iowa Arrest Law and Record Removal
Corrections begin with the custodian. A wrong roster name, charge, date, or image association should go straight to the sheriff or jail. Include the booking ID and proof attached. Manchester and Dyersville police fix errors in their own reports. One office's correction does not automatically update a news story or a search result. It also leaves an unofficial copy in place.
Iowa Courts publishes expungement forms and guidance. Section 901C.2 covers specified acquittals and dismissals. Section 901C.3 is narrower. It requires an eight-year wait from conviction, paid obligations, and no pending criminal cases. It also sets limits and exclusions, plus a recent DCI history. Eligibility always turns on the specific case. A court order reaches the court record but cannot erase copies held elsewhere.
Iowa DCI lets a person inspect and challenge their own criminal-history data. That path involves the state repository, not the county vendor or local police files. Live source pages sometimes drop or change an item. Google's Refresh Outdated Content tool can then update a stale search result. It does nothing to content that is still live. Busted Newspaper runs a documentation-based free request process. That private route is no Iowa legal remedy. It also offers no guarantee of every copy. Avoid any unverified removal service that demands payment.
Delaware County Warrants and Most Wanted
Delaware County, Iowa publishes no official online warrant portal and no standing most-wanted list. There is no set update cycle, photo rule, or reward program. No routine "Warrant Wednesday" feature exists either. Pages for Delaware Counties in other states are no substitute. The sheriff's official social page may post an occasional notice. It is never a complete list.
Search Iowa Courts Online for public case and docket material. Then call the Delaware County Sheriff's Office for current confirmation. The court search may not surface every active warrant. Iowa Code section 804.29 keeps warrant-securing filings confidential. The seal holds until an officer's return or the defendant's first appearance. A court can order otherwise.
Never approach or detain anyone over a post or search result. Call 911 for immediate danger. Use the agency's published number for a non-emergency tip. Anyone who suspects a warrant concerns them should contact counsel or the court. A third-party "wanted" label is not official confirmation.
After a Delaware County Arrest
A Delaware County arrest leaves a trail in two places, and they don't match. The jail roster shows who is in custody right now. The court docket picks up the case later. An initial appearance, bond order, plea, dismissal, or sentence lands in the Iowa court record, sometimes after the booking entry has changed or vanished from the roster. Use Iowa Courts Online to follow that trail. Match the name, county, case number, and dates with care. A booked charge can be amended or never filed in the same form.
Juvenile cases follow different rules entirely. Iowa Code chapter 232 keeps most juvenile court records confidential. Chapter 692 restricts juvenile custody and adjudication data too. Never assume an adult roster practice applies to a child, a sealed case, or a protected investigation. When a result is withheld, that absence reflects law and policy, not proof that nothing happened.
Older Delaware County Booking Records
How long do Delaware County booking records stick around? There is no easy answer. The jail page and roster publish no retention schedule for arrest photos or booking sheets. Seeing entries sit for months proves nothing about a permanent archive. Iowa's chapter 22 public-records law never set one universal retention period either. Some other statute, schedule, or agency habit may control how long an arrest record survives. The public vendor display can lag behind. It may run shorter than the jail's own files or paper trail.
For anything old, ask directly. Was the booking sheet, image, release record, or vendor file kept, archived, moved, or destroyed? Old court outcomes belong with the county clerk and Iowa Courts Online. The State Historical Society's corrections collections lean toward state institutions. They are not a confirmed home for Delaware County Jail records. Its research centers help only if the county first names a transfer path. Newspapers and legal-notice archives add color. They are not archives of record.
Custody Beyond Delaware County Arrests
An arrest in Delaware County is not always the whole custody story. A person can move out of the county system entirely. The Iowa Department of Corrections offender search reaches state prison, probation, parole, and related corrections records. Search by name or state number. Then check the commitment county, status, location, and offense fields. It is not a feed of fresh county bookings. It cannot tell you who was arrested today.
Federal custody runs on its own tracks. The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator finds a sentenced federal prisoner. It shows no photographs. Immigration detention has a separate ICE Online Detainee Locator. A federal pretrial defendant may call for the federal court. So might counsel, a detention facility, or the U.S. Marshals district. IowaVINE's county and DOC coverage leaves all of that untouched. A no-result never proves federal custody is absent.
